The Genius

Après Captain America, je m'attaque à Iron Man.
Afin de jouer sur le côté armure de la tête de fer, j'ai utilisé un papier métallique qui réfléchit la lumière de façon très prononcée.
C'est une de mes pièces favorites à ce jour.

After Captain America, let's tackle Iron Man.
I used a reflective metallic paper to get the armored look right.

The Soldier

Petite construction qui m'est chère, aujourd'hui je m'attaque à la fabrication de deux bustes, un de Captain America et un d'Iron Man. 
Vous le savez, je suis un adepte de comics et pour la sortie du prochain Avengers - Age of Ultron, je me devais de faire les choses en grand. 
Pour ceux qui ne seraient pas au courant, les deux héros vont petit à petit diverger d'opinions au point de s'affronter dans un futur film. 
J'ai voulu recréer cette tension en opposant les deux bustes.

For the next built, I'm going to tackle something particular, as I'l make two busts, a Captain America one and an Iron Man. 
As you know, I'm a bit of a comics lover and I had to make something for the new Avengers - Age of Ultron movie coming up.
For those who don't know, the two heroes are slowly starting to get different opinions that soon will end up in a Civil War, dividing the Avengers into two sides. 
I wanted to recreated that tension, building the two busts facing each other.

Wendigo for Beaumanoir

On continue avec les masques, cette fois-ci pour la prochain vidéo-clip de Beaumanoir.
Le réalisateur souhaitait 3 masques : deux cerfs humanoïdes, le premier avec de petites cornes symbolisant un père et le second avec de plus longues cornes, représentant son fils. Le dernier masque est une version simplifiée de ces deux masques avec moins de détails. 
L'idée était d'en faire des soldats à l'image du Cerf-fils, tyran et dictateur dans le vidéo-clip qui dispose de sa propre armée.
J'ai d'abord réalisé un prototype blanc.

Let's keep up with the masks, this time for Beaumanoir's upcoming video-clip. 
The director wanted me to make three masks : two human stags, one with short antlers (a father) and one with longer antlers (his son). The third masks is a simplified version of these, reducing the details around the eye and the mouth areas. 
The idea was to make a soldier looking mask as the "son" in the video-clip is some kind of dictator and has his own army. 
I first made a white prototype.

Crying Sun

De retour avec une commande qui change un peu. 
Le client souhaitait que je réalise un masque polygonal noir et brillant qu'il portera lors de la scène finale d'une représentation en patinage sur glace, si ça c'est pas cool ? 
Une fois le design validé, j'ai réalisé un prototype pour tester si le masque avait la bonne taille. 
Pour gagner du temps, j'ai retiré tous les piques et utilisé un papier blanc tout simple.
Bon, je suis parvenu à obtenir la taille idéale après 3 essais mais j'y suis arrivé.

Back with a new commission that changes a bit from the usual stuffs.
The client wanted me to make a black polygonal mask that he'll wear during the final act of an ice skating performance, now that sounds cool.
Once the design was validated, I made a prototype without the spikes to make sure it would fit properly. 
Well, I had to redo it 3 times but eventually got it right. 

The Slenderman

J'adore travailler avec des masques, j'ai toujours trouvé ça super, je ne sais pas pourquoi. 
Maintenant c'est bon, le prototype s'ajuste parfaitement à la tête du client, maintenant il est temps de passer à la version finale avec tous les piques. 
À sa demande, toutes les arrêtes du masque ont été accentuées pour ressortir en blanc, permettant de mieux distinguer chaque facette de loin.

I just love working on masks, don't ask me why. 
Well, now that I got the prototype mask to fit the client's head just right, I can start making the final version with all the spikes.
As he wanted, I made all the edges white to make easier to see all the faces from a distance.

Red Panda

De retour avec une commande, mon premier cadre format A3 ! 
Le client souhaitait un panda roux, hormis cela j'avais plutôt carte blanche sur la composition du cadre. 
Après avoir trouvé la pose qui convenait, il ne me restait plus qu'à me mettre au travail.

Un don pour la bonne cause !

Petit article particulier qui me tient cependant à coeur. 
Le 30 janvier dernier j'ai eu l'opportunité de participer à un spectacle caritatif à Mitry-Mory dans le 77.
Cette soirée a réuni des jeunes talents allant de chanteurs, danseurs, magiciens et autres afin de récolter un maximum de fonds pour la Ligue contre le Cancer et vous savez quoi, on a récolté près de 3000€, c'est pas super ça ?! 
Du coup, j'ai participé également en tenant une mini exposition, un petit stand où les spectateurs pouvaient acheter mes travaux (tous les fonds récoltés sont revenus à l'association, bien entendu).
On a organisé une tombola et le gagnant est reparti avec Rusted King, une sculpture papier d'un cerf avec finition métallisée. 
C'était une expérience formidable et la première fois que je présentais mes travaux à une audience.

Here's a post a bit different than usual. 
On january 30th, I was part of a charity event to raise funds for the League against Cancer.
It was a talent show that gathered singers, musicians, magicians and you know what, we raised about 3000€, isn't it great ?!
I held a small stand where people could buy my work (all the money was donated to the association of course). 
We offered the possibility to win Rusted King, a paper stag I made, in a lottery. 
It was the first time I presented my work to others and it was a great experience.
